Juliet Schlefer is a Brooklyn-born, Brooklyn-based lyric soprano. Noted for her “glistening tone and excellent intonation and articulation” (New York Classical Review) she is at home singing oratorio, chamber music, opera and art song with repertoire ranging from the baroque to the avant-garde. She is the 2026 Second Place Winner of the George Shirley Vocal competition, semi-finalist for Joy in Singing, a designated MATA maven, and producer of à la Dada - a Dada-inspired cabaret. This fall, she performs her first Shostakovich Symphony 14 with Orchestra Futures, at Yale University as The Auditor in Aaron Levin’s opera Trusted, and at Calvin University for their annual Messiah. This season, Juliet has performed with the Arianna String Quartet premiering In Place of the Blade by Amane Sakaguchi, with Lehigh Choral Arts as a soloist for Vaughn William’s Sea Symphony, and making her Dimenna Center debut performing Sami Seif’s Ode Phénicienne with Miranda Cuckson during the annual MATA festival.
