The concert explores the interfaith connections of various mystics, scholars, and poets. The University Choir will perform works by Javier Busto, Jonathan Dove, and Peteris Vasks. The Chamber Choir will perform the Michigan premiere of Jocelyn Hagen’s amass. amass is a multi-movement work that incorporates words of mystics and saints from various world religions and the traditional texts from the Roman Catholic mass. The performance will feature guests soloists and U-M alumni Bernard Holcomb, tenor, Jonathan Lasch, baritone, Meg Dudley, soprano, Prof. Amir Eldan, cello; Bret Hoag, guitarist; and the cello and percussion studios of Profs. Richard Aaron and Jonathan Ovalle.
